Yet another enjoyable two days of motorsport was had by quattro drivers Adam, Tim and Andy. Saturday had it’s problems for Adam when on the first practice run of the morning the newly fitted clutch decided to malfunction. A decision was made to return to the workshop at Ilminster to remove the gearbox and investigate the cause of the problem. Gearbox removed in record time and clutch assembly dismantled from the flywheel the reason for the failure was soon realised. The clutch plate had jammed itself into the centre of the pressure plate. The centre of the pressure plate was enlarged allowing the clutch plate to rotate freely and was soon refitted to the car and the gearbox back in place. The car was returned to Wiscombe in time for the official timed runs of the afternoon which saw Adam take a third in class win.
